For most of my life, I believed my value came from having answers.
As a problem solver, that's what people expected.
Find the problem. Fix the problem.
Move to the next one.
Over time, I noticed something unexpected.
The problems that mattered most were rarely technical.
They were conversations.
Trust.
Listening.
Staying.
Those lessons didn't come from books.
They came from mistakes, difficult seasons, ordinary Tuesdays, and the people patient enough to let me keep learning.
Today I still solve problems for a living. But I'm far more interested in the questions that shape the people trying to solve them.
That's what The Long View is about.
Not becoming an expert.
Becoming someone worth trusting.
The bench isn't a logo.
It isn't a brand.
It's a reminder...
A good bench doesn't tell people what to think.
It simply makes room for them to think together.
For me, it represents the conversations that have changed my life—those where no one was trying to win, no one was keeping score, and everyone left seeing the world just a little differently.
Every article, every podcast, every video, and every page I write begins there.
On the bench...
I've come to believe that questions shape our lives long before answers do.
A good question invites curiosity.
A better question invites humility.
The best questions don't tell us what to believe.
They help us notice what we've been overlooking.
I've spent much of my life asking questions—not because I enjoy uncertainty, but because I've discovered that understanding usually waits just beyond it.
If something I've written encourages you to ask a better question, then we've already had a worthwhile conversation.
Thank you for taking a seat.
I hope our paths continue to cross.
